Welcome

IMPORTANT

Please note that the DAI website is now located at http://loki.ouranos.ca/DAI/DAI-e.html and that no service will be provided from this website.

The DAI data download gateway is made possible through a collaboration among the Global Environmental and Climate Change Centre (GEC3), the Adaptation and Impacts Research Division (AIRD) of Environment Canada, the Drought Research Initiative (DRI). The Ouranos Consortium on regional climate change and adaptation to climate change provides IT support and access of the Canadian Regional Climate Model.

The Ouranos Consortium pools the expertise and disciplines of numerous researchers in order to advance the understanding of the issues and the associated requirements for adaptation resulting from climate change on the scale of the North American continent.

The Global Environmental and Climate Change Centre (GEC3) is a cross-disciplinary, multi-university research centre bringing together more than 40 researchers from five Quebec universities (McGill University, Université de Montréal, Université du Québec à Montréal, Université de Sherbrooke, Université Laval) to study processes, modelling and impacts of environmental and climate change.

The Canadian Climate Change Scenarios Network (CCCSN), part of the Adaptation and Impacts Research Division, is Environment Canada's new vehicle for distributing climate change scenarios and adaptation research. It provides both a national perspective on impacts and adaptation as well as a regional perspective. The CCCSN consists of nodes in each region of Canada.

Through DAI, members of Ouranos, GEC3 and CCCSN and their partners may download environmental data at one location, and have access to technical support. Some of these data are publicly available and can be downloaded by members on their own, if they so wish, from the original sources through the links provided below. Other data, such as the daily output of the Canadian Regional Climate Model (CRCM), are now available publicly (as of may 2008).

Important
The following data or tools are available for public access:
- CRCM data View Catalog
- Predictors
- Downscaling tools

The following data are ONLY available for partners (GEC3, DRI, EC, Ouranos, or specific project as NSERC-SRO):
- Global Climate Models View Catalog
- Other Regional Climate Models
- Global Reanalysis Products
- Regional Reanalysis Product, NARR
- Observations
- Satellites

NB: FOR ALL DATA (i.e. public & restricted access) REGISTRATION IS MANDATORY. PLEASE CONSULT THE CATALOG HERE.

Important: ACKNOWLEDGMENT TO THE DAI TEAM

Please acknowledge the DAI team in all published reports, articles, thesis and works using the data products delivered by the DAI system, using the following sentences:

“The author(s) would like to acknowledge the Data Access Integration (DAI, see http://quebec.ccsn.ca/DAI/) Team for providing the data and technical support. The DAI data download gateway is made possible through collaboration among the Global Environmental and Climate Change Centre (GEC3), the Adaptation and Impacts Research Division (AIRD) of Environment Canada, and the Drought Research Initiative (DRI). The Ouranos Consortium (in Québec) also provides IT support to the DAI team.”

To access data and support, members need to complete the registration form. After this one-time registration, members will be identified through their email addresses. Subsequent access to all data and support will be through the DAI. Access to CRCM data will require the completion of a CRCM Data Protection Agreement, which is an agreement between the person requesting the data and Ouranos.
